Saga Arashiyama
Note
- instead of taking the scenic train, we used the Hokuriku Arch Pass on JR Sagano Line from Kameoka Station to Saga Arashiyama Station
- most part of the walk was quiet, with few tourist and a good sense of the local residential area until you turn into Ine Tofu restaurant on Sagatenryuji Tsukurimichicho (main street closer to bamboo forest) towards Togetsukyo Bridge where there will be hoards of tourists (see map below)
- walked to Arashiyama Soba Restaurant to find a 2 hour queue
- went back for fish pancake, beef croquette before settling for tofu lunch ( see separate posts)

Gave a miss at this 2-hr wait Arashiyama Soba Restaurant (15 minute walk from Saga Arashiyama Station)
Sit upstairs for view of Katsura river and Togetsukyo Bridge
